Gun Powder and Lead

healthy choices, new endeavors

Yep. That’s what girls are made of.

I hope all my readers are having a wonderful Valentine’s Day! This fiance of mine did very well. Flowers, a wonderful dinner, and a cruise around town like we used to do. It was perfect. Whatever your perfect may be – I hope that’s how your day went.

Well, I’ve been kicking butt and taking names! I’ve stayed on track, and my eyes are focused up. The last three days have been killer:

Thursday (Day 4 of 1/2 training):
Cardio: 2.5 mile runWeightlifting: Kettlebell swings (20 reps, 10 lbs.), Deadlift (barbell only, 5 sets of 5), Lat pull-down (3 sets of 8-12, 40 lbs. – this one hurt a little!), Bent-over row (3 sets of 8-12, 10 lb. dumbells), Incline bicep curl (3 sets of 8-12, 10 lb. dumbbell)

Friday (Day 5/90):
Cardio: Brazilian Butt Elliptical HIIT (25 minutes) and totally doable! Find it here!
Weightlifting: Chest pass with dumbbell (10 lbs, 20 reps), Push-ups (5 sets of 5 – still doing girl pushups!), Cable flyes (3 sets of 8-12, 30 lbs.), Dips (3 sets of 8-12), Lying dumbbell extension (3 sets of 8-12, 15 lbs.)

Saturday (Day 6/90):
Cardio: with 20 mph gusts, and the temp at about 15 degrees, I had a BEAUTIFUL 3 mile run on the treadmill, holding about an 11.45 pace while watching this most wonderful video from ESPN on Kayla Montgomery: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=11909407 (if you have a second – you should really watch it – it’s SO inspiring – this girl has MS, and runs these amazing races.)
Weightlifting: Weightlifting: Kettlebell swings (20 reps, 10 lbs.), Deadlift (barbell only, 5 sets of 5), Lat pull-down (3 sets of 8-12, 40 lbs. – this one hurt a little!), Bent-over row (3 sets of 8-12, 10 lb. dumbells), Incline bicep curl (3 sets of 8-12, 10 lb. dumbbell)

You can find my playlist here (including Jett’s Creek, Gun Powder and Lead):

Sunday (Day 7/90):
Rest all around!

Any training you did this weekend? How did that play into your Valentine’s day plans?
